At the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown, when uncertainty was everywhere and public life had largely disappeared, I wanted to make something useful.
I created a series of printable posters and distributed them through Old Try—simple pieces of civic encouragement designed to be printed, posted and shared.
The work traveled well beyond the original audience. Mayors from Laurens, South Carolina, to Lonoke, Arkansas, printed and displayed the posters throughout their communities.
In a moment defined by isolation, the project became a small reminder that design can create connection—and even a little light—when it's needed most.
