This Is Not Paper / Creative Direction

We had the challenge of cutting through clutter & collateral at HIMSS – the largest Health IT conference in the history of the world. “What,” we thought “would communicate the main thing that is burdening and bogging down health systems?” Paper. Used a lot more than you’d think. Hated by IT ( who are digital-first), hated by users (faxes are still rampant) and hated by the industry – leading to siloed data, burnout, runaway costs and information overload.

The idea: build a larger than life stack of paper, towering over the show floor, ready to come crashing down. We added a augmented reality layer utilizing statistics and insights from the athena network. We told four stories of how we cut through the issues of a disconnected, analog health care information system.

“This is the coolest thing I’ve seen at HIMSS”
