Healthcare runs on information. Too much of it still arrives on paper.

For HIMSS—the largest health IT conference in the world—we needed to cut through an exhibition floor saturated with screens, booths, and collateral. The answer was hiding in plain sight: paper itself.

We built an enormous stack of paper that towered over the show floor, turning one of healthcare's most persistent problems into a physical spectacle.

The installation became an augmented reality experience, layering data and insights from the athenahealth network onto the physical structure. Four stories illustrated the consequences of disconnected, analog healthcare systems—and how technology could begin to dismantle them.

The result was deliberately impossible to ignore: a familiar problem made monumental, then made interactive.
